The Department of Infrastructure on the Isle of Man is currently recruiting for an Electrical / Mechanical Rolling Stock Fitter to join their depot engineering team – working on one of the most distinctive and historic rail operations in the British Isles.
This exciting and hands-on role involves inspecting, servicing and maintaining the unique vehicles of the Snaefell Mountain Railway, which include:
Heritage trams dating back to 1895 (re-equipped in the 1970s)
Newly built trams – undergoing testing and commissioning
Engineering stock, including Wickham cars and wagons.
You’ll be joining a team committed to preserving the Island’s iconic light rail heritage while supporting future developments and innovation.
Location: Laxey MER Station Salary: £27,598 – £33,290 per annum Closing date: Sunday 9 June 2025 Contract: Full-time, Permanent Hours: 37 per week
