Introducing charity donation tickets in support of Railway Children

UKTram is pleased to announce that tickets for the UKTram & LRSSB Light Rail Summit 2026 will be released on the Monday 11th of May, ahead of the sector’s annual gathering taking place on Wednesday 16th September.

Now in its eighth year, the summit continues to provide a platform for discussion on the issues shaping light rail, alongside opportunities to build and develop connections across the sector.

Following seven successful years as a free event, 2026 will introduce a new approach to ticketing.

A limited number of £10 donation tickets will be available, with 100% of proceeds donated to Railway Children. Tickets will be non-refundable subject to terms, with all funds supporting the charity’s work.

Railway Children works to support vulnerable young people who are at risk on and around the rail network, including those experiencing exploitation, abuse or isolation. Through partnerships with the rail industry and British Transport Police, the charity provides training, early intervention and ongoing support to help young people access the help they need.

Following last year’s sold-out event, demand is expected to be high. Additional space has been made available for exhibitors in response to growing interest, while delegate numbers will remain limited.

UKTram Managing Director James Hammett said:

“The summit continues to provide a brilliant opportunity for the sector to connect, and there’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes to make it happen. That’s a real credit to Lorraine and the team. The feedback over the years has been very encouraging, and we’re proud to see how the event has grown and continues to support the sector.”

UKTram Business Manager Lorraine George added:

“The summit has always been a free event, so this year we wanted to introduce a simple way to give something back. By offering donation tickets, we’re able to support a charity that does important work across the rail industry, while still keeping the event accessible. It’s always a highlight in the calendar and we’re really looking forward to bringing everyone together again. There’s already a lot of interest this year, so we’d encourage people to mark their calendars for the ticket release.”

Building on previous years, the 2026 programme will feature a focused agenda of presentations and discussion, alongside opportunities for networking and knowledge sharing. Representatives from Railway Children will also be part of the event.
