UKTram is pleased to announce a new strategic partnership with Rail Forum. This partnership is an exciting step in strengthening ties between the light and heavy rail sectors while supporting collaboration across the wider UK transport industry.

The partnership was teased at Rail Forum’s flagship Parliamentary Reception on Monday 28 April by Transport Committee member and Derby North MP Catherine Atkinson, as well as at a recent event at the RaisE Business Centre in Goole, where the theme of cross-sector collaboration took centre stage.

Established in 1993, Rail Forum represents a diverse membership that spans global corporations, SMES, asset owners, digital innovators, manufacturers and operators. With a not-for-profit ethos and strong roots across the UK, Rail Forum is a leading advocate for supply chain engagement, innovation and policy influence.

Through this new partnership, UKTram and Rail Forum will work closely to promote opportunities for joint working on shared priorities. The aim is to strengthen knowledge exchange across infrastructure, operations and innovation.

James Hammett, UKTram Managing Director, shares:

"Collaboration between industry bodies like Rail Forum and UKTram is essential as we respond to shared challenges and opportunities. We're proud to stand for collaboration, innovation and proactive sector leadership and we look forward to providing even greater value for the wider rail industry by aligning our efforts. This partnership provides another valuable platform for connecting our members with new insight and support."

Cat Appleby, Membership & Engagement Director at Rail Forum, comments:

“We are delighted to launch this partnership with UKTram which creates new opportunities for members to connect, innovate, and shape the future of a more joined-up and passenger-focused transport network.”

This partnership marks a significant step toward a more unified, forward-thinking rail sector, one that values collaboration and puts passenger experience at its core. As UKTram and Rail Forum begin this new chapter, members across both networks can look forward to expanded opportunities for shared learning and cross-sector engagement, taking on the challenges and ambitions that define modern transport.
