UKTram has confirmed its continued support for the Global Light Rail Awards in 2026, recognising the importance of celebrating achievement and innovation across the sector.

Taking place on the 7th October at Battersea Arts Centre, the awards bring together projects, teams and individuals from across the global light rail community. The event provides an opportunity to reflect on progress and recognise the contribution light rail makes to the public transport sector.

Now firmly established as a key date in the sector calendar, the awards attract entries from across the UK and internationally, showcasing delivery, collaboration and technical excellence across a wide range of categories.

UKTram will once again sponsor the event in 2026, continuing its commitment to recognising excellence across the light rail sector. The organisation's ongoing involvement reflects its commitment to raising the sector's visibility and celebrating the people and organisations driving its development.

James Hammett, UKTram Managing Director, reflects:

“We always look forward to the Global Light Rail Awards. It’s a chance for the sector to come together and recognise the work being delivered across light rail, while also taking a moment to connect with colleagues from across the industry. We look forward to another fantastic evening and we're pleased to continue our support as a sponsor.

Entries for the 2026 awards are now open, with organisations encouraged to submit work that demonstrates impact, innovation and leadership within light rail.
