UKTram has officially launched its new Members Hub, a dedicated online space designed to sharer resources, insight and collaboration tools for light rail professionals across the UK and Ireland.
The hub has been developed to support members with easy access to practical information, shared experience and sector intelligence, all in one place. It represents another step in UKTram’s commitment to delivering tangible value through membership and creating stronger connections across the community.
At the heart of the Members Hub is UKTram’s Request for Information (RFI) service, a unique benefit available exclusively to members. The RFI service allows members to submit questions on operational challenges, emerging technologies, policy issues or best practice. Queries are shared with the most relevant functional working groups, operators or subject specialists, helping ensure timely, practical and informed responses.
Members can also search the growing RFI library by keyword, making it easier to learn from previous queries and sector-wide experience.
The RFI service helps members to:
Resolve challenges with practical, real-world insight
Build connections across networks, operators and suppliers
Access shared learning from across the sector
Save time researching solutions independently
As one member commented:
“I think the Request for Information forum is incredible. Instead of trying to obtain contacts to get answers, this forum allows us to get information seamlessly. I wish the heavy rail side had the benefit of such a system.”
- Kevin Canavan, Driver Integration Manager, Transport for Wales
The Members Hub also includes a members-only news section, where members can access member news and read the lates edition of Tram Talks, UKTram’s official digital members’ magazine, alongside other sector updates. Members are encouraged to submit their own news to be shared across the community.
An integrated events calendar allows members to view upcoming UKTram activity, industry events and webinars, with the option to submit their own events for inclusion as the hub continues to develop.
Dan Hill, UKTram Knowledge Manager said:
“We hope that the Members Hub reflects how the sector works best, through collaboration and problem-solving. It'll give UKTram members a simpler and more connected way to access shared knowledge and expertise”
The Members Hub is launching in its early phase, and member feedback will play a key role in shaping future enhancements. UKTram will be focusing on increased automation, improved functionality and expanded content as the platform grows.
Chelsea Branch, UKTram Digital Marketing and Communications Manager commented:
“It's been a great project to bring to life. We see this as a foundation that we'll continue to build on, so member feedback will directly shape how the platform develops, including future automation and improvements.”
Members are encouraged to share feedback, suggestions or queries by emailing Chelsea.Branch@uktram.co.uk or Daniel.Hill@UKtram.co.uk
How to access the Members Hub UKTram members can access the Members Hub by visiting the UKTram website and selecting Member Login from the membership dropdown menu.
