UKTram is proud to confirm its attendance, exhibition, and sponsorship of this year’s UK Light Rail Conference, taking place in Leeds on 22–23 July 2025 at the University of Leeds.

As the only event of its kind dedicated solely to light rail in the UK, Mainsprings UK Light Rail Conference provides a unique platform for collaboration and progress across the sector.
UKTram will take an active role for another year, sharing insights and engaging in conversations to help shape the next phase of light rail development.
On Tuesday, 22 July, UKTram Chair Stephen Edwards will deliver a keynote session titled ‘A vision in motion: UKTram’s blueprint for the next phase of light rail’. (Hall A | 11:40 am – 12:05 pm)
Later that day, long-time conference partner and Chair of the UKTram Centre of Excellence, Colin Robey, will join a high-profile panel discussion on ‘Investing in the future of light rail’, alongside sector leaders from the Light Rail Transit Association, Mott MacDonald, West Midlands Metro, Nottingham Express Transit and more. (Hall A | 3:15 pm – 4:00 pm)
We will also be exhibiting alongside Integrated Human Factors (IHF), showcasing its ongoing work around innovation, safety and workforce wellbeing—including the latest phase of testing on BaselineNC™, a wearable fatigue monitoring system for safety-critical roles.
Visitors to the UKTram stand will also have the opportunity to learn more about sector membership, current workstreams, and new opportunities for collaboration.
The UK Light Rail Conference is renowned for bringing together decision-makers and innovators across operations, engineering, policy and planning. UKTram’s continued presence, both on stage and on the exhibition floor, reaffirms its commitment to sector leadership and joined-up working.
