A range of overhead line maintenance roles are now available on the Tyne and Wear Metro, as Nexus strengthens its incident response capability and supports ongoing investment in network resilience. Eleven vacancies are currently open, with applications closing on 30th April.
The roles include five overhead line maintainers alongside a number of supervisory and managerial positions, all supporting the maintenance and renewal of Metro’s 77km electrified network. The overhead line system, which provides 1500v DC power to the trains, is a critical part of day-to-day operations.
Successful applicants will also contribute to a wider multi-million-pound modernisation programme, including the renewal of overhead power infrastructure across the network. The recruitment forms part of a broader period of investment for Nexus, alongside the rollout of a new train fleet and future network expansion.
Further details and application information are available via the Nexus careers website.
