UKTram welcomes AtkinsRéalis as latest member
UKTram is pleased to welcome AtkinsRéalis as its latest member, adding extensive engineering, project delivery and systems integration expertise to the growing UKTram community. AtkinsRéalis works across the full lifecycle of light rail projects, supporting clients from early-stage planning and business case development through design, construction, commissioning, operations and long-term maintenance.
Its multidisciplinary capabilities cover track and civil engineering, traction power, train control and depot facilities, alongside advisory, procurement, testing and commissioning expertise.
A key focus for AtkinsRéalis is intelligent integration, considering how the different physical and digital elements of a light rail system will work together from an early stage of a project. This approach aims to reduce technical risks and delays later in delivery while supporting safe and reliable operations.
The organisation also brings experience from light rail and transit projects internationally, including delivering automated and driverless systems, combining this global expertise with locally based teams and knowledge.
James Hammett, Managing Director of UKTram, said:
“We’re delighted to welcome AtkinsRéalis to UKTram. Their expertise spans many areas that are important to the successful development and delivery of light rail and there will be plenty of opportunities for them to contribute their knowledge through our Functional and member network, while also benefiting from the experience and insight shared across the UKTram community.”
Through its UKTram membership, AtkinsRéalis will have opportunities to engage with operators and other industry organisations, share technical knowledge and contribute to discussions around the future development and delivery of light rail.
Welcome to UKTram, AtkinsRéalis.
