UKTram has welcomed Pro Rail Services as its latest member, adding further infrastructure expertise to its growing supplier community. The family-owned specialist contractor delivers permanent way and civil engineering services across the UK and Ireland. Its capabilities also include specialist surveying, infrastructure monitoring and access to rail plant.

More than 90% of the company’s projects are delivered by directly employed teams. This self-delivery model gives Pro Rail Services greater control over quality and programme delivery, while allowing its engineers to respond effectively to complex infrastructure requirements.

Its teams support clients throughout the project lifecycle, covering early surveys and design alongside construction, maintenance and asset renewal. This experience spans rail, light rail and other critical infrastructure.

Pro Rail Services has already supported the light rail sector through work for Edinburgh Trams. Specialist surveying and infrastructure monitoring provided accurate engineering data to inform maintenance planning and support the safe operation of the network.

Membership of UKTram will give the company opportunities to share this practical experience with operators and fellow suppliers. It will also support Pro Rail Services as it develops its presence within the light rail sector.

James Hammett, Managing Director of UKTram, said:

“Pro Rail Services brings fantastic infrastructure experience and a strong commitment to safe delivery. We’re pleased to welcome the team to our growing community and look forward to the practical insight they will contribute.”

Eamonn Maloney, Managing Director of Pro Rail Services, said:

We are delighted to join UKTram and become part of an organisation that is championing the future of light rail across the UK. As a family-owned business, collaboration and long-term relationships are at the heart of everything we do.''

He continued, ''Over the past 15 years, we have built a business founded on technical expertise, innovation and delivering safely for our clients. While our experience spans heavy rail, light rail, water and wider infrastructure, we see significant opportunities to support the continued growth of the tram sector. We look forward to sharing our expertise, learning from fellow members and building lasting partnerships that help deliver safe, reliable and sustainable tram networks for the future.”
