UKTram has added two new resources to its member library, sharing technical and shared learning from discussions held through the Light Rail Engineers Group (LREG).
The new resources cover:
Embedded Track Renewals: This resource examines how modern approaches to embedded track renewals can reduce disruption, improve efficiency and support long-term asset management. It draws on industry experience and discussions within LREG, exploring areas including modular construction, systems engineering and whole-life design.
Lifts and Escalators – Procurement for Reliability and Maintenance: Developed following a UKTram best practice session, this resource captures shared learning around the procurement, reliability and maintenance of lifts and escalators. It explores considerations including maintenance strategies, lifecycle planning and procurement, alongside experience shared by light rail operators.
The resources form part of UKTram’s work to capture practical experience from across the sector and make that knowledge available to members. Through groups such as LREG, members can discuss common challenges, learn from one another and share approaches that have worked across their networks.
Both documents can now be accessed via the UKTram Members Hub.
