West Midlands Metro is expanding its team with three exciting opportunities now available at its Wednesbury Depot, each playing a vital role in delivering safe, reliable and customer-focused tram services across the region.
Driver Manager
Responsible for leading the team of tram drivers, this position ensures high standards across operations, safety, and performance. The Driver Manager will manage rosters, lead on driver development, and drive a culture of continuous improvement. Strong leadership skills and experience in a safety-critical environment are essential.
Operations Control Centre Manager
This role will oversee the 24/7 operational heart of the tram network, managing a team of 21 OCC staff and ensuring all incidents, service updates, and customer communications are handled effectively. Candidates should bring strong leadership and strategic operational experience to this fast-paced environment.
Commissioning Manager
As Commissioning Manager, you’ll lead and coordinate testing, commissioning, and integration of new trams, infrastructure, and systems. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers, ensuring all assets meet required standards before entering service. It's an exciting opportunity to shape the future of the expanding network and would suit someone with a strong background in light rail or complex systems delivery.
